Coffee

Keurig K55

We both love coffee. There are few negatives and a lot of positive benefits from this beverage. My preferred way to make it is by french press and grinding from whole beans. The problem is dealing with the grounds. They were great when we had a garden. Its not a good idea to pour grounds down the sink. But, washing the grounds outside is not so bad, but one more step. The other problem is heating hot water to pour into the french press. At home we had an instant hot. Microwaving water is not difficult, but it adds one more step when waiting for that first sip. It can also be difficult while traveling to find whole beans I like. The other methods of brewing involve their own clean up problems and headaches. Maybe just getting lazy, but the easiest solution has been using a Keurig and getting the K-cups from Costco. The bad news is these things tend to break down. We are on our 3rd in 5 years. The pump and heating element that have failed. That is one of the reasons for ordering a no frills model. We have been coffee connoisseurs, brewed almost every imaginable way, sampled from many countries, and toured many coffee farms over the years. The K-cups are not as good as grinding our own beans and using a french press, but sometimes I just want a cup now!
