Southern Africa Safari Guide: Kruger, Botswana, Cape Town & Stellenbosch

May 5, 2026 by Michael Huntley

Last Updated: May 2026

In May 2016, we spent three weeks in southern Africa — a four-night safari at Lion Sands Narina Lodge in Kruger National Park, days exploring Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula, four nights at a remote bush camp on the Linyanti River in Botswana, and two days in the Cape Winelands at Stellenbosch before flying home. It was a trip that reset our idea of what wildlife travel could be. We’ve covered all four stops in detail, and this guide collects everything we’ve written into a single planning resource.

The Ultimate Arizona RV Travel Guide: Destinations, Routes & Tips for Every Season

May 4, 2026 by Michael Huntley

Last Updated: May 2026

Arizona has been our most-visited state by a wide margin — and for good reason. We first arrived in January 2018 for a winter stay in Tucson and haven’t stopped coming back. Over seven years and more than forty posts, we’ve explored the Sonoran Desert in every season, hiked saguaro forests in multiple mountain ranges, stood at the rim of the Grand Canyon, photographed ancient petroglyphs in Canyon de Chelly, and found quiet corners of this state that most people drive past without stopping. Jake spent his best years exploring Arizona’s dog-friendly trails. Sandy found her favorite sunsets here. Michael has been visiting since the early 1980s and still finds something new every trip.

This guide collects everything we’ve written about Arizona — more than forty posts covering every region of the state — organized by geography so you can plan a trip to any part of it. Whether you’re spending a week in Tucson, making the full loop through the Colorado Plateau, or just passing through on I-40, there’s a post here with the details you need.

From Amsterdam to Bucharest: Our Complete Rhine, Main, and Danube River Cruise

December 28, 2025 by Michael Huntley

Last Updated: May 2026

Some trips stay with you for years. The river cruise Sandy and I took aboard Uniworld’s River Duchess — from Amsterdam to Bucharest — is firmly in that category. Over three weeks we sailed through eight countries along three connected waterways: the Rhine through Germany’s most celebrated wine valleys and cathedral towns, the Main through Franconia’s medieval heartland, and then the Danube itself — broad and green through Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Romania, growing quieter and wilder the further east we traveled.

We wrote a dedicated post for every stop on the journey. This is the post that connects them all — a stop-by-stop account of twenty-one destinations in the order we visited them. If you are researching a similar cruise or simply want to revisit the journey with us, the links below will take you to each full story.

Scandinavia & Baltic Cruise: Complete 3-Week Itinerary from Southampton

November 1, 2024 by Michael Huntley

Last Updated: May 2026

A Scandinavia and Baltic cruise is one of the most culturally rich itineraries available in Europe. In the space of three weeks, a single voyage can carry you from the dramatic Norwegian fjords — some of the deepest in the world — to medieval walled cities, Cold War landmarks, royal palaces, and prehistoric stone burial ships scattered across Baltic islands. This is a destination where the history is layered, the scenery extraordinary, and every port feels genuinely different from the last.

Our three-week voyage departed from Southampton, England, spending the first week exploring Norway’s western coast before returning to Southampton and embarking on a two-week Baltic segment that took us to Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Estonia, and Finland. This page is the complete guide to everything we saw and experienced — with links to the full post for each port.

Panama City Beach, Florida

January 9, 2022 by Michael Huntley

Panama City Beach is a popular spring break and vacation destination for those in the nearby southern states. It’s miles of sugar white sand beaches are rated among the top in America. Panama City Beach experienced a real estate boom in the mid 2000’s with a lot of new construction and price increases. Hurricane Michael in 2018 destroyed a large part of the county, but it was hard to tell since most structures have been rebuilt or repaired. Driving around the area, there is still evidence of downed trees from the hurricane. From Orange Beach, Alabama it was about a 3 hour drive.
