Bryce Canyon National Park

Panguitch is a small city with less than 1,800 people in southwestern Utah located near Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. Panguitch is a Paiute word meaning “big fish” because of the local trout. Our main reason for staying here was to see Bryce Canyon.

Snow at Bryce Canyon National Park

Snow at Bryce Canyon, or any National Park has always been a dream come true to see, but it’s usually impractical. Motorhomes, even though ours weighs over 40,000 pounds, don’t do well in the snow without dumping the tag axle or putting on chains. The Jeep however does great. We’ve never worried since we could just stay a few extra days until the snow melts or buy motorhome chains.

Bryce Canyon National Park & Kodachrome Basin, Utah

We were looking forward to returning to Bryce Canyon National Park for its collection of natural amphitheaters filled with orange, red, and white hoodoos. We had come less than an hour’s drive from Escalante, and nearby was Kodachrome Basin State Park.
