Mammoth Cave

Mammoth Cave National Park has the longest cave system in the world and more is getting mapped every year. It has more than 420 miles of surveyed passage ways, nearly twice as long as the second longest cave system which is located in Mexico. Mammoth Caves was made a National Park in 1941.

Cave City, Kentucky COVID-19 Shutdown

Cave City, Kentucky was only about an hour and a half drive north from Nashville, Tennessee. We wanted to see Mammoth Cave, but the National Park Service cancelled our cave tour the day before we arrived.
