Family-Colorado & Texas

January 19, 2024 by Michael

Most of Michael’s immediate family is in Colorado. Since we were headed south from Yellowstone, it was a great time for a quick visit. This was the latest during the year that we’ve stayed in Yellowstone. Many businesses and RV parks were closed for the season. Temperatures were below freezing at night and we were snowed on a number of times. Definitely time to head south for warmer weather.

Elk rut typically occurs in September and October. This is one of the best times to visit Grand Teton National Park because of fall foliage, cooler weather and less tourists. Grand Teton National Park is a wildlife lover’s paradise, with a wide range of animals to see throughout the year. From West Yellowstone, it took about 2.5 hours to drive to Colter Bay in the Tetons.
