Zion National Park in Late April

From Bryce Canyon we went to Zion National Park in southwestern Utah. We stayed at Bauers Canyon RV Park in Glendale, Utah which was about a 30 minute drive to the Zion entrance along the Mount Carmel Highway. Temperatures dropped to freezing at night, so we needed our heated water hose.

Bryce Canyon and Kodachrome Basin

We were looking forward to coming back to Bryce Canyon National Park because of it’s collection of natural amphitheaters consisting of orange, red, and white hoodoos. We were less than an hours drive from Escalante, Utah. Nearby was Kodachrome Basin State Park.

Grand Staircase-Escalante, Utah

From Capitol Reef we drove the Scenic Byway 12 to Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Utah. The road was picturesque, very curvy, and took us to an elevation of 9800 feet. There was snow on the ground at higher altitude.

Capitol Reef National Park, Utah

From Moab we traveled a few hours west to Capitol Reef National Park, Utah. It was below freezing at night and it snowed.

Moab, Arches, and Canyonlands

Moab, Utah is a gateway city to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Because of the opportunities for outdoor recreation in a stunning natural setting, Moab, Utah is known for mountain bike riding, hiking, river rafting, motorcycling, ATV riding, Jeep trails, climbing, and canyoneering.

Bluff, Utah

Bluff, Utah was only an hour drive from Monument Valley. Since there were quite a few things to see in the area, we couldn’t pass it up. Funny picture of two cows.
